First Post - Foundational Foreshadowing

How can you accept the notion that morality is borne externally and extolled by those who do not exhibit it?

This, in a nutshell - Is what has brought me to this point in my journey of life.

I always find it so interesting to realize that some of our most staunch convictions are not actually ours but instead have been internalized from people, situations and experiences we never fully analyzed.

Of course, you may jump initially upon reading this statement and form an opinion based on people, situations and experiences from your religious history.  It is easy to do, and rather sad that religion has become one of the first things pinpointed when confronted with this irony.  The idea however, stretches across relationships with parents, teachers, mentors, lovers and friends.  "You are who you hang around with".  This can be extraordinarily powerful, extraordinarily limiting, or extraordinarily malicious.

After much pain in experiencing the perplexing and stubborn notion I felt as a child that somehow the adults had it all wrong - I have come to this place.  This place of active learning, of searching, of trying on and experiencing truth.

I welcome you to join me on my journey, to share yourself with me and with all the sets of eyes that will find themselves here over time.
